More Than 120 Years of History

Decades ago, German settlers brought their favorite food staple, the "bretzel", to Pennsylvania. In 1888, we started our first storefront bakery in Lancaster, where H.K. Anderson took part in building the tradition of the American pretzel snack - twisting every one by hand and baking them to golden perfection in our brick ovens.

We've since outgrown that little brick bakery, but we're still making quality snacks for everyone with the same handmade care that went into our first pretzels. Like H.K. Anderson, we are committed to bringing you and your family the finest pretzels with simple, classic American ingredients, and our own unique, modern twists. We hope you enjoy!

2011: A Commitment to Going All Natural

We believe that baking healthy, wholesome snacks for the family powers healthier communities, so for us, simply asking people to trade up to better for you snacks just wasn't enough. H.K. Anderson has transitioned to using only all-natural ingredients in all of its products as our way to address the core issues with the American diet, one pretzel at a time. In every bite, you can expect:

  • Simpler, Healthier Snacking: Snacks with simple, wholesome, all natural ingredients that provide fantastic flavor and satisfaction
  • Modern Tradition: Reflecting on the warmth and simplicity of the good ol' days with the relevancy and needs of today
  • Innovation: Commitment to constantly evolve with our consumers needs and tastes
  • The Golden Rule: Making a difference in our communities through healthy living
  • From start to finish it takes about 40 minutes to make and bake a pretzel.
  • Largest pretzel ever baked was 40 lbs
  • Our bakers make sure that each pretzel is twisted perfectly and has just the right amount of salt
  • Our pretzels do not contain any animal fats, artificial colors or flavors, or preservatives as many other snacks do
  • Pretzels are baked, not fried - one reason why they are a low fat, low cholesterol snack
A Quality Tradition
